Incarcerated

I forget where this machinima was linked from (blog, twitter, email, facebook, the interwebs?), but Incarcerated is a great Moviestorm short.

Incarcerated from Poulet Noir on Vimeo.

First video on Vimeo, but short clips by Poulet Noir (love the name) were covered by Overman, and other shorts are on Moviestorm's site.

More TV Machinima

I cannot find any news sites reporting this, only press releases.

They say that Lucinda McNary, (lucindamc123? of Two Moon Graphics) will have a machinima shown on a Time Warner cable channel.

Moviestorm page?

Of course this part also caught my eye:
The stunning dramatic piano and orchestra piece, Tremble was written and performed by Daniel Stang of Edmundton, Alberta, Canada The song Yesterday was written and performed by Daniel Stang and Kyle Blackwood.
I presume they mean Edmonton. That meteor sprinkling pixie dust in its wake?

Thunderous Thursday

ABC will produce "Masters of Science Fiction" miniseries bringing four episodes narrated by Stephen Hawking. Bizarre.

Fling Films introduces Moviestorm to GTA in "Play It Again Carl".

Incarcarex Drug Policy Film.

See if you can do this math test on YouTube. Pay attention!

This Halo movie "Be Human" won a Judges' Choice award in the recent HaloBungio.org Zune contest. Very well done.

Futurecasting on NewTeeVee (or SciFi as it used to be called). Googlezon in 2014 launches EPIC vs. Linden Labs launching Spirit in 2027? Psshaw. I welcome the coming disinformation wars. If bits can easily be created, copied, and destroyed, they can also be easily manipulated. If you introduce noise into the bitstream and only you know it's there, how it was made, and how it can be subtracted, then you win.

iClone vs. Moviestorm

Fight!

In the red corner - iClone movie "The Case of the Missing Plot".

And in the blue corner - Moviestorm film "The Dirty Dishes".

No hitting below the belt.

Of course this is silly, but so are both videos. Moviestorm is still in beta. Recent news suggests a free version will be available. Will iClone be forced to follow suit. Either way, it is a grand time to be a machinimist with such a wealth of software available to content creators.

I am curious, though, if there will be any other entries in this niche market (although I doubt it will be a niche for long). Something from Apple? Microsoft? Blender is already open source. Adobe? Google? Now there's an idea.

Two Moviestorm Vids

Both from the same user: Kkffootube.

The Uncomfortable Chair (MS only)
Waiting (MS and Sims)

There has been extensive posts about Moviestorm over at Machinimafordummies.

iClone and Moviestorm, two products dedicated to machinima. Interesting, but I'm still waiting for an open source platform. Blender's produced two movies so far: Elephant Dreams and Plumiferos (the first a short, the second feature length). Perhaps Second Life's gradual movement in that direction is an answer (via MfD).
