European Machinima Festivals

UPDATE*

And another festival, this time in Leipzig Aug 23-26 called Games Convention that will have a machinima gallery and two workshops put together in part by a group called "Animation in new media".

Now I'm starting to get pissed off. What's happening on this side of the Atlantic?

Two festival notes for European machinima:

1. The judges for the 2007 European Machinima festival at De Montfort University in October have been announced:

Kate Pullinger
-teaches at De Montfort and has an interesting selection of authored works and digital media products
Martyn Ware
-artist and founding member of The Human League
Hugh Hancock
-Strange Company, Bloodspell, The Machinima For Dummies book, etc.

Submission deadline is Sept 1, 2007.

2. Found this site announcing the "Grand Prix MMO Machinima 2007" which babel fish hacks to bits and my French is so bad and forgotten that translation is abysmal. It appears to be part of "The Festival of Video Play 2007" in Paris, Sept. 21-23 which sounds like it was very successful last year.
