YouTube Audition

There's a user on YouTube (daredevilmatt) that has put up several 'auditions' of himself speaking a variety of lines in various accents (geared towards Halo I believe). All of the 'auditions' are short clips of approximately 2 minutes long, but interestingly, they're all done with a black screen (judge him solely on his speaking I suppose). Just a note, but I think he needs a new microphone.

Innovative? Has this been done before? Presumably YouTube is one giant audition repository. At least this is the first instance I know of where somebody has put themselves out there solely for machinima on YouTube, although there are places like Machinima.com where people advertise their services.
